We regret cancellations or orders cannot be accepted after goods have been cut or dispatched. On special orders, cancellations cannot be accepted after manufacturing has begun. Telfer Carpets and Flooring also reserve the right to cancel your order giving adequate notice of the termination of contract/order.

The estimate/order is given on assumption the area to be covered will be cleared of any existing floor covering and furniture prior to arrival.

If requested in advance, the fitter will move furniture or uplift existing floor coverings. There is an additional charge for this service.

All pile carpets, especially those with plain grounds are liable to shading eg light and dark patches arising from uneven floor surface pressure. This tendency is not detrimental to the wear of the carpet and is not due to any manufacturing fault.

We cannot guarantee a perfect colour and pattern match when using different widths or weights however every effort will be made to obtain the best available from the manufacturer.

Our fitters are not responsible for the cutting and re-hanging of doors.

Any remedial work to subfloors is the responsibility of the customer. Any complaints arising from uneven floors cannot be considered after fitting.



How do I measure?

We can do that for you free of charge

Do you fit carpets?

Yes we have reliable friendly team of fitters with a wealth of experience for all floor coverings we sell.

What is your turnaround time for fitting/delivery?

Most carpets an be delivered within 48 hours and fitting is flexible to meet the customer needs.

Do I need to take up the old floor coverings up?

Yes but we can offer this service for your for an additional charge

What if I have a room full of furniture?

The room should be cleared as best as possible but speak to us and we can meet most requirements.

Do we take any rubbish/carpet cutting’s away after fitting?

No all waste will be bagged by the fitter but not disposed of, if you ask the fitter he can place it in the bin for you. We can offer an uplift and disposal service for you, a small additional fee is required for either or both of these services.

Telfer Carpets and Flooring are based in Leechmere Industrial Estate, Sunderland, and ran by husband and wife team
Billy and Claire. Billy has worked within the carpet trade for over 25 years and his dad Bill Telfer part owner of Cotton & Telfer.

Claire brings a wealth of experience from her career in finance sector and has worked within the carpet profession for over 12 years.
